"....Duskpaw?" Leopardpaw meowed back to the voice, remembering the familiar tone from the TimberClan apprentice. She looked around rapidly, not seeing the friendly apprentice anywhere, a bit saddened by it. She longed to see the tomcat again, despite the hostile bonds between the Clans.

"Leopardpaw? What are you doing here?" the tomcat mewed back as he heard the Streamclan apprentice's voice as he then carefully made his way down the tree and landed infront of her and tilted his head but his gaze showing happiness to see his friend

"I was hunting, and then I heard something snap, and got worried. I'm so happy to see that you're here and you're okay!" The apprentice cooed, twitching her whiskers with joy as she sat down, curling his tail around her front paws with a smile.

"Yeah. Haha If only I watched what branch I was on that wouldn't have happened" he purred as he smiled back his tail twitching enthusiastically "Where's your Foxhearted mentor anyway?" Duskpaw asked not smelling any fresh scents from Blackfoot as he then licked where he was struck the night before protecting the Streamclan apprentice from her evil mentor and flicked his ear as he looked at the cobwebs he was careful not to lick off

"Apparently, one of the warriors were found dead this morning... WolfClaw is only calling his treachery a rumor, but they sure seem to be considering him responsible. Bluestream was asked to take me out today." Leopardpaw replied, her eyes gleaming a bit as she spoke about the blue tomcat. She always enjoyed when the warrior took charge of her training. A half moon ago, when BlackFoot had to leave for awhile, he had taken her out on a hunting patrol. Later that day, Gravelstripe was found dead... Probably another work of her outrageous mentor. But Bluestream was like a big brother, always looking out for others.

"Huh, I'd think it was him too if I were your clanmates." the Siamese apprentice mewed as he lashed his tail hint of a growl in his voice "Maybe Bluestream should be your permanent mentor" Duskpaw wondered out loud as the tomcat looked back at Leopardpaw his piercing gaze visibly remembering what happened the night before

"Ripplestar would never hear it. BlackFoot had always been a loyal warrior in her eyes." Leopardpaw sighed, her fur bristling a bit. All apprentices of BlackFoot had died... Hailpaw drowned, Frecklepaw was killed by a "fox", and Riverpaw had fallen off a cliff... The apprentice wondered if she was the next victim, her whiskers twitching with uncontentment, worry, and fear.

"He would've killed you if I didn't step in..." Duskpaw mewed as he looked at his paws still feeling his claws tear through Blackfoot's fur as he sat down and curled his tail around his paws "Ripplestar will need to take the fur out of her eyes and see the connection" he added as he dug his claws into the soft earth once again

"I know... But things just won't change for the right because a few apprentices know the truth..." Leopardpaw whispered, her shoulders sagging with despair. No one would ever believe two young cats that an old, wise warrior had been killing his apprentices, and fellow Clan members. Ripplestar would never listen.

"Not until we're warriors they won't believe us..." he replied as he flicked his tail and tensed up he then pushed Leopardpaw into a nearby bush and crouched low faking to hunt a piece of prey near the tree roots when Blazefire and the rest of the patrol came up "Duskpaw, what happened? Are you alright? We heard one of the branches one the trees fall" he mewed as he looked at his apprentice "Oh, everything is fine Blazefire, it was probally the wind that blew one of the branches off" he lied as a sharp wind tugged at the cats fur and Blazefire sniffed the air "I smell Streamclan..." Blazefire mewed as Duskpaw cut in "A Streamclan border patrol just marked their new borders so that must be why" "Alright, just be careful Duskpaw" he mewed as he and his patrol turned around "Be sure to come back before sunhigh" he added "I will Blazefire" Duskpaw replied as his fur lied flat

Leopardpaw hid in the bush, confused until she saw the patrol. Her fur bristled as she watched silently, amber eyes gleaming dully within he shrubbery, waiting patiently for the signal that it was okay to come out. She didn't want to be spotted by the patrol, even so, they had scented StreamClan.

Duskpaw turned around and flicked one of the leaves with his tail when the patrol left "It's alright Leopardpaw, you can come out" he mewed as he moved to the side for Leopardpaw

The young apprentice slowly crept out, sitting back down beside Duskpaw. The sun was climbing higher and higher in to the sky, and she wondered if Bluestream was worried about her. She was a bit tense, knowing what would happen if BlackFoot found out she was talking to the TimberClan apprentice again.

Duskpaw looked up to the sky and flicked his tail "I'll have to get going. See you later Leopardpaw....?" he said as he got up and bounded deeper into Timberclan territory the shadows cast by the trees engulfing his figure

Leopardpaw watched the TimberClan apprentice bound away, quickly trotting away, picking up the fish she left on the shore, and swam silently back to her territory. She could see Bluestream watching curiously on the shore, feeling hot beneath her pelt. Eyes giving a scared gaze, she dropped the fish and gave a nervous hello to the warrior.
